This is a really interesting month energetically and the ways it overlaps with Mercury retrograde makes me think that we all have some waking up to do. The energy points to small fires, little mishaps and confusion around what was agreed upon. If you are waiting for someone to reach out or do something, make sure that they know that the ball is in their court. If you feel misunderstood, misquoted or misrepresented by someone’s words or actions then put effort into getting it rectified while being clear and kind in your language and behavior.
There is some quitting energy coming up which could apply to both big and small agreements. Maybe it’s time to quit a job, or the idea of a certain job/career in its current state. This could apply if you have been playing it safe and need to go all in on what you’re building. It could also show up if you’ve been trying to make things work out as a freelancer but would find joy and safety in a part-time job to give your nervous system a break from the uncertainty.
The quitting extends to dreams you have become the victim of. The lack of a dream or goal coming to pass could be bringing you an unhealthy and unwarranted sense of failure and unhappiness. It is alright to change the dream, to reshape the goal, to redirect your energy and set a new course. Make sure that your dreams are up to date and that you still want to pursue them wholeheartedly.
One of the biggest mistakes we can make when pursuing a dream is to only picture the positive surface level of achieving it. If you truly want to manifest big and beautiful things then you have to be willing to step into the version of you that can hold, afford, enjoy and deal with the challenges that come with them. May is a month for facing the glorious, messy and human parts of you and believing that you’re worthy and capable of getting exactly what you want.
It feels like there is a couple of things happening simultaneously this month. One thread of the energy has to do with ideas, creativity and faith. The other thread is focused on how to communicate those ideas, figuring out if they are viable and useful for others and making them tangible. At times we will be entwining the threads prematurely, trying to bring to life ideas that might need more vetting and brainstorming. Not all your plans are seaworthy and some of the communication this month will stall when those ideas get tested and need reworking. All of this leads us to learn what questions to ask and who in our circle brings a more level head to the discussion. Your perception of those around you could shift and new go-to people might appear.
Here are the cards for May 2023 from Tosha Silver's The Wild Offering Oracle deck. The deck uses different words throughout for the Divine so feel free to replace it with your own if the one on the card doesn't quite resonate.
Impatience - My life is unfolding in Divine timing. All delays are beneficial. I'm always at the right place at the right time.
Doubt - Offering All to the Divine doesn't mean negativity never arises. But you can say, "Free me from this prison of doubt I cast this burden to You. Show me Your will and restore me to faith and confidence."
Self-acceptance - Nothing is more exhausting than endlessly working on "yourself." When you offer your whole Being fully to Love, self-acceptance arises spontaneously. May I rest on our Oneness, dear Divine!
